Bob and Bethany met at UW Oshkosh through mutual friends and started dating after six years of friendship. Bob proposed during a trip to Colorado, and he says it was “nothing too fancy. I was looking for a nice way to ask her, but ultimately decided it was between the two of us. I thought if the moment presented itself, I might get down on one knee somewhere — so I clumsily carried the ring around, which I was so nervous about the entire trip!” Bob popped the question during a quiet moment at the Air BnB. “It was perfect to see Bethany’s reaction and how happy she was. I think the delivery was all right after all!”

“I had the pleasure of working with Bob and Bethany during their engagement and wedding ring purchases. Bob carefully selected an amazing Hearts On Fire diamond to be set into a custom one of a kind solitaire style mounting. We then created a matching custom wedding band for Bethany and Bob chose an awesome two- tone white gold and rose gold band for himself. I want to congratulate them on their wedding and wish them noting but the best for their future together!”

Cassi and Zak’s wedding was filled with family tradition. They were married in a clearing in the woods beside Scattering Rice Lake in Eagle River, WI on property that was first purchased by Cassi’s great great grandparents over 100 years ago. The girls got ready in Cassi’s parent’s 100 year old house set on a hillside over looking the lake. The day was cloudy and gray and everyone was praying for the rain to hold off. Just as the wedding party started to walk down the aisle, the clouds parted and the first bit of sun we had seen all day shown through. Rain held off until the very end of the ceremony! The party continued at Eagle Waters Resort, a classic northwoods Resort full of rustic charm, where the dance floor stayed full and the dessert table was quickly emptied. Tears were shed and laughter was shared throughout the whole day for these two high school sweethearts.

Sonja and Michael were married on Thursday Sept. 1st, 2016 at the Historic Mansion Hill Inn. Their closest family and friends witnessed the celebration. It was so lovely and elegant, and I was honored to photograph their special day for them. Sonja is from Canada and moved here to pursue her career as a veterinarian. She moved thousands of miles to the UW. Then she met Michael here in Madison. They followed their hearts and fell in love.
This classic wedding was the perfect setting for Sonja’s style. She is classy, elegant, and stunning! Michael agrees! They used local vendors as much as possible making it a truly Madison wedding. The flowers from Homegrown looked like they belonged in the Mansion just picked from the garden. The food from Underground was amazing!! The cupcakes and desserts from Bloom were marvelous as always!
To add to the fun they played American/Canadian Trivia. The American friends were given Canadian Trivia and the Canadian friends of course were given American Trivia. It was kind of funny how much we do not know about our neighbors.
Congrats to Sonja and Michael! See you around Madison!
Cheers – Erin Melissa
